Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description
The outline of a shrapnel measuring 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in height.  The shrapnel is white and upon it is superimposed a navy blue border 1/4 inch (.64 cm) and a navy blue bear on haunches 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) high with a white letter S 1 3/4 inches (4.45 cm) cut in the bears body.  

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 16 October 1919.
